Promotions Intern

The intern will assist the Promotions team and 3rd Party agencies in all areas of Radio and TV promotion to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
– Assist the Promotions Department with general duties.
– To answer the phones for the department and take responsibility for the messages taken with the appropriate promotions person.
– Book cars for artists/hair and make-up/band/crew when required.
– Assist weekly Promotions reports from the team where necessary.
– Order promotional stock on behalf of the team (CDs/ Merchandise/ Gig Tickets), distribute and keep a note of quantities.
– Co-ordinate travel for department, artists, musicians, dancers, competition winners etc. and provide full itineraries when necessary.
– Assist promotions dept. with sending videos, lyrics, riders, equipment lists, label copy, release dates and forthcoming releases, publicity photos.
– To maintain and manage promotional budgets keeping your line manager and finance manager informed.
– To organise work permits when necessary for international artists.
– Co-ordinating guest lists for tours and showcases
– Attending gigs/events during out of office hours.
– To be the point person for several out of house promotional companies and assist in coordinating requests for relevant artists’ promo stock, tickets and travel.

Person specification:

Essential:
– Passionate about music with a desire to progress in the industry.
– A specific interest and knowledge to work within Promotions.
– Good general knowledge about Radio & TV in the UK (stations, shows, performances).
– The ability to learn quickly.
– Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure.
– Flexible and able to prioritise own workload.
– Good computer skills i.e.: Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.

Desirable:
– Experience of working in an office environment.
– Experience working in music (personal or professional).
