The Department of Music at the University of Chicago seeks an accomplished Early Music specialist of both skill and promise to fill the part-time Lecturer position as Director of the UChicago Early Music Ensemble (EME). The EME is a combined vocal and instrumental ensemble of 12-20 undergraduate, graduate student, and community musicians that specializes in Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Baroque repertoire, with close attention to authentic historical performance practice.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished musician with distinguished performing credentials as well as a broad and deep knowledge of Medieval, Renaissance, and/or Early Baroque repertoire. The successful candidate will also have substantive experience and demonstrated success in coaching vocalists and/or instrumentalists in proper technique and in historical performance practice, preferably at the college or university level.
