The New School is seeking a new Manager of Concerts. 

Reporting to the Vice Dean of Production, the Manager of Concerts is directly responsible for all areas of concert operations, room scheduling, and student recitals. Working with departmental leadership such as the Vice Deans and Associate Deans, the Manager will provide direct support to class concerts, class schedules, private lessons and individual student performances.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Executive Director of the Mannes Sounds Festival
  • Responsible for Piano Replacement plan and funding
  • Manage the Full-time Piano Technician at Mannes and oversee instrument maintenance and care.
  • Coordinate front of house operations for all concerts and events at Arnhold Hall
  • Manage budget for all student ushers and house managers
  • Manage and schedule Mannes student recitals and class concerts
  • Support the Associate Producer in scheduling of academic related activities into performance venues
  • Oversee adhoc room booking student worker / temporary employee
  • Act as lead support and contact for summer Mannes partnership programs / festivals as assigned
  • Assist with recording scheduling for performances
  • Support students who need additional guidance for projects outside of the normal scope of recitals or traditional concerts
  • In partnership with Academic Affairs, assist with room scheduling for classes and lessons
