The Irish Baroque Orchestra is Ireland’s flagship baroque orchestra. It utilises historically informed techniques, performance styles and instruments. Under its Artistic Director, Monica Huggett, the IBO maintains a busy concert schedule, performing regularly in Ireland and overseas. The orchestra also has a number of acclaimed recordings. The IBO is an innovative leader in the promotion of early music in Ireland through its education and community initiatives.
The IBO is in the process of developing an exciting and ambitious long-term strategy and now seeks a Chief Executive Officer who will steer the orchestra towards its goal of being recognised as one of the finest baroque orchestras in the world.
The CEO reports directly to the Board and will drive implementation of the orchestra’s strategy, raising the IBO’s profile, reach and appeal within Ireland and internationally. The CEO will also have responsibility for day-to-day running of the orchestra, managing concerts and events, publicity, sponsorship and fundraising. She or he will have arts administration experience (ideally, but not essentially, in music) and will be able to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, which includes players, audiences, funding sources and board members.
