A Welsh National Opera digital project in co-commission with The Space - Occupation - Five songs that shook the world. 

Occupation explores the potent vocal expression of public protest – music and song. Five different composers from five diverse musical genres will create new songs in response to contemporary acts of protest or current news as they happen across the world during November 2014 – January 2015. 

The composers are given a 2 week window to respond to a chosen theme or news story and then a video is made of each song. Exploiting the immediacy of digital media, these are published online on occupation.org.uk and shared through social media platforms.
