Bandcamp Daily Editor

Bandcamp Daily Editor

Wednesday, 2 January 2019, 11.55pm

Bandcamp’s editorial team – the team that publishes Bandcamp Daily – is looking for an ambitious, musically-curious editor to help tell the stories of artists all over the world who use the site.

Bandcamp Daily is a five-person editorial team dedicated to showcasing the Best of Bandcamp via interviews, features, album reviews, lists, and more. It publishes 4 - 5 pieces per day, which makes for a constantly-moving editorial cycle. Pieces need to be well-written, factually accurate and, above all, interesting – the kinds of stories only Bandcamp could tell.

Requirements:

  • You have at least two years experience as an editor, and three or more as a writer.
  • You are a razor-sharp editor who can spot weak ledes, subject/verb disagreement, poor word choice, and confusing story or sentence structure.
  • You have a strong knowledge of jazz, soul, and underground hip-hop.
  • You have experience commissioning stories, working with an editorial calendar, and wrangling writers under tight deadlines.
  • You have a healthy roster of freelancers you’d love to either continue working with, or work with again.

NB: No deadline specified.
