BRINGING THE BLUES BACK HOME
Ladies In The Blues for one night only in the celestial surroundings of Christ Church Bray County Wicklow. A unique concert celebrating the women who lived the blues....people like Ma Rainey, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin and many more. This live music show, charting women’s role in the evolution of the blues returns to Bray after four sell out concerts in The Mermaid Theatre On board this blues train are Clara Rose, Ireland’s songstress of rockin’ blues, Bray girl with a unique voice for blues Emma Nicolai and Dun Laoghaire queen of vaudeville,Jhil Quin on washboard and vocals and Grainne Hunt a golden voiced chanteuse... The show’s ‘house band’ comprises Ed Deane on guitar, James Delaney on keys, Eoghan O Neill on bass and Kevin Malone on drums........We pay homage to these women, singing such songs as CC Ryder, Black Coffee Blues, I Put a Spell on You, Bring it on Home to Me, Ball and Chain, Piece of My Heart, Feelin Good, I’d Rather Go Blind, At Last, Ain’t Nobody’s Business and many more.
