Irish Youth Wind Ensemble 2019

Applications are now open for IYWE 2019 which will take place in the University of Limerick from 20 – 27 July.

Applications are invited for Flute / Piccolo, Oboe / Cor Anglais, Bb, Eb and Bass Clarinet, Alto / Tenor / Bari Saxophone, Bassoon & Contra Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion, Harp and Double Bass.

Applicants must be aged between 16 and 25 during the course and have a minimum of Grade 6 standard.

The group meets once every year for a week-long residential course in addition to other, shorter, gatherings and collaborations. The course commences with sectional rehearsals that are tutored by some of Ireland‘s finest professional wind, brass and percussion players. The Ensemble then move into intensive rehearsals which are followed by a series of concerts in Ireland. The IYWE have also toured abroad on numerous occasions.
