Philanthropy Manager, Australian Chamber Orchestra

Wednesday, 30 April 2014, 5.00pm

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for acquisition and retention of Patrons, managing the Orchestra’s relationships with Trusts and Foundations and identifying new sources of philanthropic funding.  You will also manage a full time Patrons Executive.

You will work closely with the ACO’s inspiring musicians, engaged and committed Board and Senior Management Team and engage meaningfully with the Orchestra’s passionate and committed supporters.
You will enjoy working in a high profile, fast paced and dynamic environment, as well as attending concerts and hosting events.

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident, articulate professional with a strong understanding of Australia’s philanthropic landscape and the Performing Arts industry and an appreciation of classical music.  Ideally, you will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in the successful delivery of fundraising / development programs or equivalent experience in a client management / sales / business development role.

You will also possess:
•    Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
•    Excellent communications skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders at a variety of levels;
•    Superior organisation skills;
•    The ability to manage strategic thinking and attention to detail concurrently;
•    The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy work environment;
•    Extremely competent verbal and written communication skills; and
•    A high degree of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and database management experience.
