The London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Foyle Future Firsts annual development programme bridges the transition period between college and the professional platform for up to 16 outstanding young musicians.

Applications for the LPO’s Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme are now open.

Instruments accepted (1 place per instrument unless stated):
Violin (2 places), viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone or bass trombone, tuba, percussion, harp, piano.

Application Requirements 
The Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme is designed for musicians with undergraduate or postgraduate performance degrees. You should not apply if you are still undertaking your undergraduate degree in the academic year 2017/18. If you are in your final year and will have completed your undergraduate studies by the September 2017 then you are eligible to apply.

If you do not have a performance degree but are able to perform to an equivalent standard, we require a written reference from your instrumental teacher to accompany your application. This can be downloaded below and must be submitted by the applicant’s instrumental teacher by the application deadline of Thursday 11 May 2017.
