Boyne Music Festival 2018

Boyne Music Festival 2018

Friday, 3 August 2018, 8.00pm to Sunday, 5 August 2018, 10.00pm

The Boyne Music Festival celebrates its sixth season from 3rd - 5th August with a dynamic weekend of chamber music, poetry and song. Works of chamber music combine with art song and jazz for dynamic programmes that find a unique and intimate resonance within the storied walls of Townley Hall in Drogheda. Three evening programmes will feature performances by Rita Manning, Brodsky Quartet musicians Paul Cassidy and Jacqueline Thomas, Aisling Manning, Julie-Anne Manning, Dorrotya Lang, Deirdre Brenner, Robin Panter and the Chris Laurence Quartet. The musical offerings will be accompanied by poetry readings from Irish poet Peter Fallon, children’s workshops, young artist masterclasses and historic tours of Townley Hall and other sites in the Boyne Valley.

Built in 1799 by Francis Johnston, one of the foremost architects of his day, Townley Hall is one of Ireland’s hidden architectural gems. Its
beautiful rooms offer wonderful acoustics, light and warmth for all Boyne Music Festival activities.
