Finnish composer, poet, innovator and musician Yrjänä Sauros is starting to gain quiet infamy for the creation and use of the Saurophone. While it may sound like an invention of Dr. Seuss, this instrument comprises a single long string, the sound of which is strengthened through amplification, layered through looping, and processed in realtime to create rich groove-driven melodies. In this performance, Yrjänä will be collaborating with Irish Bass player Cormac O’Brien.
