Research Fellow in Spatial Audio

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to be based in the Department of Music and Media’s Institute of Sound Recording and to work full-time on the EPSRC-programme-grant-funded project S3A: Future Spatial Audio for an Immersive Listener Experience at Home. The post is available from February 2018 until June 2019, and the successful candidate will contribute to maximising the impact of the S3A project.

The post-holder will collaborate with other researchers in the S3A project at the Universities of Surrey, Salford, and Southampton, and will work on one or more of the following areas: signal processing for extraction of audio objects from mixtures; rendering objects to non-standard loudspeaker arrays; development of production tools for novel spatial audio systems; or creation of object-based audio datasets.
