Tuesday, 20 March 2018, 11.55pm

The Department of Music at Goldsmiths is seeking to appoint an experienced musicologist and lecturer within HE, with a significant research profile in the study of 20th- and 21st- century music, including but not necessarily limited to art music traditions. Your research outputs are likely to achieve Grade 3 or Grade 4 in the forthcoming Research Exercise Framework assessment, and you will be able to attract postgraduate students from both in and outside the UK. You will develop and innovate in areas of contemporary music teaching and research, working in complement with Department staff in cognate areas. Expertise within the Department presently includes theoretical, practical and historical perspectives on art, jazz, popular, audiovisual, experimental and other forms of modern and contemporary music. You will match and supplement these specialisms with your own theoretically-informed work on 20th- and 21st- century music. You will also take on a senior academic admin role, with some leadership responsibilities.
