Mike Brookfield Band
To paraphrase Jimi, “Move over Rover and let the music scene’s best-kept secret take over..”
There’s a thrilling new blues-rock guitarist banging down the door and his name is Mike Brookfield.
Who?
Mike Brookfield, the six-string wizard axe-slinger who’s caught the ear of Alan “Irish” O’Duffy, a studio legend who only produced records with Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Richie Blackmore, Peter Frampton and Paul McCartney.
So, Alan, out of ten, tell us, how high do you rate Mike Brookfield?
“Nine, dude. This guy’s an electric nine. He’s sensational.”
Brookfield is based in Ireland. He arrived with a history of playing in pick-up bands, casual session work and fronting a variety of West End rock’n’roll musicals.
Right now, he’s consolidating a line-up that can carry the turbo-powered dynamics of a house-style that incorporates the emotional overload of the early Delta blues pickers and the pyrotechnic flash of the modern amped-up generation.
It’s not simply about fretboard technique with Brookfield, an accomplished songwriter who knows how to turn out a melody that hits deep. It’s all about emotion, telling a story and connecting. It’s the Blues.
This train’s leaving the station. So grab your ticket now ‘cos you won’t want to be trying to explain how you missed out. Especially since we gave you a heads-up.
Mike is about to release an album which is co-written by Eamon Carr (Horslips/Music journalist) and has producer Alan O’Duffy on board (Rory Gallagher, Paul McCartney).
