Southbank Centre is looking for a strategic, passionate and innovative individual for the new role of Director of Creative Learning. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to shape and deliver an inspiring and dynamic new model for creative learning at the UK’s largest arts centre. The role holder will lead on the creative direction and implementation of unique, trail-blazing and impactful learning initiatives which engage all audiences with our art forms, and will work with the Creative Learning team and internal and external stakeholders to ensure all are engaged and motivated to deliver excellent programmes. The Director of Creative Learning will be a champion for diversity and inclusion in our educational activities, ensuring the widest possible reach regardless of age, background, heritage and particular circumstances, and as a member of the Executive team will shape the strategic direction of Southbank Centre as an organisation. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working at a senior level in an educational capacity in an arts organisation, with substantial experience of strategic development of innovative learning and participation programmes on a local and national level. They will have a good understanding of the education system and experience of working with schools, and of Southbank Centre’s audiences and potential audiences, stakeholders and communities. They will be a skilled leader with a passion for developing high performing teams and will have advanced presentation, negotiating and interpersonal skills across audiences from the widest diversity of backgrounds.
