Lecturer in Music Analysis

Monday, 4 February 2019, 11.55pm

The Music Department at the University of Manchester invites applications for a temporary lectureship in Music Analysis, tenable from 1 August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter until 31 June 2020. This opportunity has become available due to the need to provide teaching cover for a member of staff on maternity leave.

You will be expected to convene and deliver course-units in Music Analysis across the curriculum, contribute to other teaching at undergraduate and Master’s level as required, and contribute to the management and administration of the department under the guidance of the Head of Music. While the post is teaching-focused, you will also be encouraged to contribute to the research culture of the department.

You will hold a PhD in Music, demonstrate subject expertise in your specialist field, have a strong awareness of current thinking in the field, and have a proven ability to provide high-quality and innovative teaching to a range of student groups at different levels.
