Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival (DGAF) is the largest rural performing arts festival in Scotland. It has been running a highly successful Festival each May since 1979.

This year’s Festival will have over 60 performances in more than 40 venues across the region.

In 2016 Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival embarked on a new venture and in addition to the Festival, it now works with a network of local promoters, venues and community groups to provide high quality performances all year round, under the banner Dumfries & Galloway Arts Live.

The Festival is seeking to appoint a Programme Director with vision and imagination to lead the future development of Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival and Arts Live. DGAF is looking for someone with:

– A good knowledge of the contemporary performing arts scene;
– Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
– Significant experience in festival programming;
– Evidence of writing successful funding applications

The job covers five key areas:

– Programming the annual Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.
– Programming of Arts Live Year Round
– Writing and submitting funding applications
– Strategic Financial Management
– Working with venues, promoters and performing artists across the region to develop skills and opportunities for the performing arts to flourish.

The Festival is offering a salary of £30,000 – this is a full-time permanent post (35 hours per week).

The successful candidate will work from the festival office at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries.
