MA Classical String Performance (Keyboard)

The MA Classical String Performance (Keyboard) programme is a two-year, full time postgraduate degree programme offering advanced tuition in piano and harpsichord. Combining performance and research, keyboardists receive individual lessons on their main instrument and take part in chamber groups and other collaborations coached by faculty and tutors at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. Keyboard players also participate in classes, seminars, and innovative projects with students and faculty from across multiple degree programmes. Masterclasses and workshops taught by internationally acclaimed visiting artists and scholars are a feature of the programme, as are many options for choosing an Elective and Independent Study. Modules taught on the MACSP (Keyboard) curriculum include the following:

  • Technique, Repertoire & Style / Performance Practice 
  • Ensemble
  • Writing and the Documentation of Arts Practice
  • Independent Study
  • Elective
  • Final Recital

Entrance Requirements:
A primary degree with first or second class honours
or
an approved equivalent qualification
or
an equivalent capability based on prior professional experience.
