Early Irish Harp Discovery Day

Have you always wanted to play the harp? Would you like to know more about the history and traditions of Ireland’s ancient instrument? If so, now’s your chance! The Historical Harp Society of Ireland is presenting Early Irish Harp Discovery Days in 2018 in cities around Ireland as part of its mission to help promote the ancient Irish harp. On 3 March the Discovery Day is in Waterford, in The Large Room, City Hall.

LISTEN: 1pm: lunchtime concert by Siobhán Armstrong (Tickets: €15/€10)
LEARN: 2pm: Simon Chadwick will give a talk on the history and construction of the early Irish harp. (Free)
PLAY: 3pm: Sylvia Crawford will conduct a hands-on beginners workshop on harps supplied by HHSI. (€15/€10)
