Artist Development Associate Projects Manager
This is a key role in LSO Discovery’s Artist Development team, which is led by the Head of Orchestral Artistry and also includes the Associate Project Manager (composer programmes), and the Discovery Assistant.
In consultation with others in Discovery and with LSO musicians and animateurs, the postholder plans and runs two series of public events through the year; Discovery’s Friday lunchtime concerts for the local community at LSO St. Luke’s, and Discovery Days which comprise an open LSO rehearsal, visiting speakers, and chamber music. The postholder manages the Assistant who runs regular pre-concert Platforms for Guildhall students at the Barbican Hall.
The role also works with talented young musicians in higher education, being responsible for the LSO’s successful and long-running String Experience programme, which enables selected string players from London Music Colleges to play alongside the LSO in rehearsals and concerts. The postholder works with the Head of Orchestral Artistry on some additional projects, in particular booking LSO musicians for Guildhall Orchestral Coaching.
The post has important relationships with the Head of Discovery, the Discovery Artist Development team, the musicians of the LSO, key Guildhall school staff and students, and the LSO St. Luke’s team, as well as other LSO personnel including marketing, development, and concerts staff.
salary: £24,000 per annum, pro rata.
