TG4/BBC Musical Documentary ‘Port’ to feature Donegal Fiddler Liz DohertyPort is a landmark award winning music series - part music documentary; part travelogue; It has returned for a third series and continues to chart the musical landscapes of Ireland and Scotland.  Audiences accompany presenters Julie Fowlis and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh to bustling urban centres and sleepy townships to record a cast of musicians, raconteurs and characters. This Sunday’s (April 30th) episode was filmed in Inverness in Scotland and features  Donegal fiddler, academic, educator and consultant within the traditional arts community in Ireland and internationally, Dr Liz Doherty, along with the young Irish sean nós singer Aodán Ó Ceallaigh.Presenter Muireann NicAmhlaoibh takes Liz Doherty to meet musician and broadcaster Bruce McGregor and they collaborate on Highland and Donegal fiddle tunes with the episode culminating in a great Irish/Scottish session at folk music bar, The Waterfront.
