Beckett, Howe, Redmond Jazz Piano Trio

Beckett, Howe, Redmond Jazz Piano Trio

Thursday, 14 June 2018, 9.00pm

After a successful run of gigs last year, these three leading musicians get together again for an extended tour.

Often mentioned as Ireland’s greatest jazz export after Louis Stewart, Darren Beckett has played and performed with some of the greats of the jazz and music world. High profile artists he is currently playing behind are Brandon Flowers of The Killers, French pop/movie composer Émilie Simon and for the last 10 years, Madelaine Peyroux. Just looking at his Website gives you an indication of some of the prodigious people and places he is associated with.

Appearing with Darren is Brighton based pianist, Oli Howe. The pair met last year when Darren returned from New York and set up home in the South of England town. Their love of tradition and the classic piano trios like Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal mixed with modern beats music and hip-hop and R+B give them a unique understanding of swing, with a foot in the past and one in the future. Joining the duo will be well known Dublin based bass player Dave Redmond.

With super tight arrangements and interplay on classic standards, this show is not to be missed.
