We are: looking to appoint a part time hourly paid Lecturer in Piano to teach Junior and Senior students within the School of Music on a 1 year fixed term contract.
You will: be an accomplished musician with an international profile and have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the expectations of a Conservatoire education together with teaching experience in a Conservatoire (or possibly another HE) context. A higher education teaching qualification is also desirable.
You will have: Excellent interpersonal skills, along with a strong team-working ethic. Flexibility and adaptability are also vital to this role. You will be required to recruit and maintain home/EU and international students and/or actively contribute to research and/or other modes of income generation in line with School of Music policies.
We introduced a new curriculum in 2012/13. Our new curriculum offers our emerging artists greater choice within their own specialism, creating space for greater co-creation with students from different disciplines. It is relevant to the contemporary international scene and meets the need now felt by professional companies in every discipline around the world for confident, reflective, adaptable artists. In academic terms, the new curriculum creates the space for disciplinary excellence, choice and trans-disciplinary collaboration.
