Part-Time Administrator, Waltons New School of Music, Dublin

Waltons New School of Music is seeking a new part-time administrator, to start in November 2014. The successful applicant will work in a small but very busy office on a variety of tasks related to the daily operation of a large music school with an extensive outreach programme as well as an international concert series (Waltons World Masters). This position is an excellent opportunity to work in both music education and arts administration.

Days/Hours:

•Tuesdays 10 am – 6 pm

•Thursdays 2 pm – 10 pm

•Fridays 12 pm - 8 pm

•Saturdays 10 am – 6 pm

•(Some flexibility may be required.)

Requirements:

•Solid music background and/or third-level music degree (essential)

•Professional administrative experience

•Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accurate word-processing abilities

•Excellent organisational and time-management skills

•Excellent interpersonal skills (the office is constantly open to the public and the school has 63 teachers)

•The ability to solve problems and work independently

•A genuine interest in music and arts administration

Responsibilities:

•Answering enquiries about every aspect of the school and its programmes

•Enrolling new students, generating invoices/receipts

•Taking payments by various methods (cash/cheque/credit or debit card)

•Correspondence and email

•Data entry, filing, photocopying and general office work

•Timetabling: new students, re-enrolling students, practice room hire

•Mailings: updating mailing lists and generating mailings to students, schools and organisations
