Orchestral Brass Tutor

The RCMJD is seeking to engage an accomplished orchestral brass tutor. The post holder will be responsible for coaching the brass sections of the RCMJD Sinfonia and RCMJD Symphony Orchestras in preparation for RCMJD performances and regular prestigious external projects. The successful applicant would join a team of eight highly experienced orchestral tutors who are all active professional musicians.

Responsibility allowance: tutors will be paid to attend on six Saturdays per term (six rehearsals of Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestra) during the hours of 11am – 2.30pm.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • To attend rehearsals and assist RCMJD students and the conductor as needed
  • To conduct occasional whole section rehearsals as required
  • To be an advocate for the needs of students/other orchestral tutors as part of the RCMJD core curriculum
  • To liaise with other orchestral tutors in order to disseminate information as required
