Director, School of Music
The ideal candidate is an artist/scholar who can demonstrate a successful teaching and leadership record in a university setting and who displays high energy, research excellence, and a commitment to diversity, technology, collaboration, and program development. The successful candidate will lead the way in defining and implementing a vision for the School of Music, with the goal of enhancing its strengths and keeping it competitive with respect to today’s changing academic climate and the challenges newly confronting higher education, particularly in the arts and humanities. The Director is expected to seek the advice and recommendation of his/her colleagues while conducting School of Music affairs in a collaborative and democratic manner. The Director is typically appointed for a three-year term, with opportunities for re-appointment based on departmental election.
