‘Antidotum Arachne’: Beware the spider! @ East Cork Early Music Festival 2018

Saturday, 13 October 2018, 3.00pm

16th and 17th century victims of venomous spider bites were offered no medicinal cure or relief. Instead the local musicians would work together to find the correct melody, known as a tarantella, which could cure them of their otherwise fatal symptoms. During this programme, Palisander explores a victim’s ordeal through the numerous symptoms and side effects of a tarantula’s bite.

Tickets: €18. Children under 12 go free with an accompanying adult. Limited number of €5 student tickets available at the door.

Palisander Recorder Quartet
Lydia Gosnell, Miriam Nerval, Caoimhe de Paor, Elspeth Robertson
