SOLSTICE WEEK STARS

With Winterval in full swing, you won't want to miss the highly acclaimed mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught and pianist Dearbhla Collins celebrating the Winter Solstice on Monday 17 December in the Large Room, City Hall, Waterford at 7:30 pm. Organised by Waterford Music, the concert will include songs by Brahms, Liszt, Copland and some festive favourites!

A rich, radiant voice, expansive range and dynamic stage presence are the hallmarks of Irish mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught. In recent seasons Tara has sung leading roles in operas at major venues including the Metropolitan Opera, New York; Glyndebourne and the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich where she was based for ten years. She has also given recitals throughout the United States, Canada, Denmark, France, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom. After Waterford she will be singing Donna Elvira at the Staatsoper Berlin, followed by concerts in Indianapolis and Milwaukee.

Dearbhla Collins is one of Ireland’s finest and most versatile musicians. As well as being an accomplished and prize-winning soloist with a distinguished performing career nationally and internationally, she is a respected chamber musician, vocal coach and musical administrator. Currently Artistic Administrator to the prestigious Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition, Dearbhla is also actively involved with the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year Competition, with Culture Ireland, and with the Board of the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
