Salary: Appointment will be made at a maximum of the 8th point of the Lecturer salary scale in line with current Irish Government pay policy

Candidates will be expected to commence in post by no later than 1st September 2015

Post Summary

The School of Education seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Arts Education and the successful candidate will co-ordinate and develop postgraduate education courses in arts education. S/he will teach and supervise on the pre-service teacher education courses to include the supervision of undergraduate and masters level dissertations. The Assistant Professor will contribute to the School’s postgraduate research programmes including the supervision of doctoral research. The post-holder will undertake research, knowledge generation and dissemination in the field of arts education. The successful candidate is likely to be a specialist in one specific art form and they will have an interest in advocating for the inclusion of all art forms (dance, drama, music, visual and fine arts, literature and creative writing) across the spectrum of formal and non-formal education, throughout the life span.
