Oboe and Bassoon Instrumental Tutor

Saturday, 12 May 2018, 11.55pm

The Conservatoire is looking for dynamic instrumental tutors to work at Saturday Music School at Leeds College of Music.  Tutors will be working on a programme called SMS Target aimed at encouraging young musicians to take up instruments that are not commonly available in schools and are in demand in ensembles.  This programme has been closely developed with, and is supported by our partners ArtForms and Leeds Music Education Partnership.

Candidates should have extensive experience as a teacher of oboe and bassoon, be passionate about education, and care about developing and nurturing our students.

The Conservatoire is looking to attract applications from tutors who have experience teaching group lessons and leading ensembles.  The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate young musicians and contribute to the success of the course.  The candidate will be comfortable working with a team of tutors and be able to teach music in a range of genres.  They will be expected to provide tuition for a group of mixed oboe and bassoon pupils with the support of a student supervisor.  Pupils will be between the ages of 9 and 13.  The candidate will also be expected to be involved in an ensemble with other tutors on the scheme, helping the students develop ensemble skills.
