The Phil Ware Trio @ The Dublin Jazz Co-op

The Phil Ware Trio is a jazz piano trio led by pianist Phil Ware accompanied by bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady.

UK-born Ware made the transition from blues to jazz in his early twenties. After moving to Ireland, he established himself as a major player on the scene and has been much in demand from Irish and international musicians. His career has taken him throughout Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East, and his long-standing trio with bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady has twice represented Ireland at the Eurojazz Festival in Mexico City.

In the classic jazz trio fashion, their performances are all interactive conversations between each of the players as they move their way through a song, with echoes of Bill Evans’ archetypical late ‘50s sound, as well as more contemporary exponents like Brad Mehldau.

Their set mixes standards from the jazz songbook, with more recent compositions like the Bond theme, Nobody Does It Better. The trio have been regulars on the Dublin scene for well over a decade, establishing themselves as the foremost Irish piano trio on the go and still going strong.

Check out these masters of the form in the intimate surrounds of The Workman’s Club of a Sunday evening and you’ll be in for a real treat.
