Head of Quality and Learner Services

Based in Manchester, to lead, shape and manage the development of our provision including quality and services to learners.

As part of the continuing development of Access to Music’s provision and our commitment to the provision of quality learning programmes, we a looking to appoint an experienced Head of Quality and Learner Services to join our senior management team.

Acting as the quality nominee, in this challenging and exciting role you will lead and shape the continued development of our national education and learning programmes for the creative industries sector.

You will be an experienced manager with a detailed knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes in the further and higher education sector, with experience of managing the processes associated with external quality agencies including leading on the Ofsted and QAA inspection and preparation processes and the assessment, validation and review of international learner provision through the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) or other validating body.

You will also have experience of developing effective services and support for learners including safeguarding and safe learning environments, learner voice and will work with relevant managers at Senior and Centre level to ensure the effective development, enhancement, quality and improvement of the learner experience and improved learner outcomes including focusing on pastoral, welfare, and other support strategies including equality and diversity matters encompassing the Prevent agenda.

You will work with awarding bodies including Rock School, BTEC, Edexcel etc. to ensure that the curriculum and qualification frameworks delivered remain relevant and meet the needs of learners, industry and other key stakeholders, and ensure the development of effective learning, delivery and progression routes, including the use and integration of learning technology, industry/commercial work experience and appropriate enrichment opportunities.

You will be an experienced change agent with an ability to audit, analyse, interpret and present data alongside an ability to make effective and evaluative judgements. A clear communicator with an ability to support and mentor colleagues and provide effective and timely feedback in a sensitive and supportive manner. You will also be able to drive performance through effective planning, target setting, demonstrating strategic vision and an ability to contribute to wider business needs.

You will have a quality and learner service background gained from the education and training sector with a knowledge and experience of quality systems and processes together with effective support for learners and learning including a knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and equality and diversity issues.

This post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance. Access to Music exercises appropriate care in the appointment and selection of those who will work with young people and vulnerable adults. Access to Music are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for work.
