Caitriona Ní Cheannabhàin is an Irish speaker from the west of Ireland in little village called Ard East , Carna, Galway .

Caitriona was fortunate to be born into a family where song ,story ,music and dance were an integral part of everyday living she was very much influenced by her Father Michael Mhàire an Ghabha and her grandmother Màire an Ghabha , who possessed a vast store of songs and lore which they generously shared with their children and grandchildren.

This rich musical nurturing was very evident when she began to compete in local competitions like Feis Charna and Féile Joe Éinniú,and in later years with success at various competitions both locally and nationally.

She has travelled nationwide singing her sean-nós songs and she doesn't confine herself to her sean-nós repertoire but has also gone to compete in the Country Western Shows along side Gerry Guthrie on Glór Tíre 2016 .

She has shared the big stages in Ireland and abroad with the likes of Dubliners, Daniel Ó Donnell , Sean & Matt Keane, Cunningham Family, John Hogan, Mike Flavin, Paddy O Brien, Derek Ryan,

She is regularly seen on Tv Station TG4 and is welknown on airwaves across the world. You can hear her voice in the Bob Quinn and Bill Whelan film Poitín, Cathal Black film Korea and sang beside Adrian Dunbar and Colm Meanney in a film called 'How Harry Became A Tree .

She recorded her first Cassette Cruach na Caoille with Clo Iar Chonnachta alongside her hero her Dad back in 1987, then went along years later to record her first solo album Sólàs with a wonderful mixture of Ballads, Irish country and sean nós songs as well as newly written song by her young brother Pól ó Ceannabhàin written for their Mom 'Grà Do Mhàthair'.

She went on to record another album called Póta Mór Fataí with Songs for young children and for people that was interested in the Irish language and in learning the sean nós style of singing .

She teaches the old style of traditional songs in the around Ireland.

After years of singing in local pubs and sharing the big stages with other well known artists she now starts her own personal journey in a magical show called Music From The Mists .

A Show to surely entertain you , she brings you on a light and hearty journey where she gives old songs new lease of life , as every song has a tale to tell let it be an old style of traditional Sean-nós song ,a ballad or a lively country western song . She is joined in this hearty mystical show by some amazing musicians and her brother Pól ó Ceannabháin --- who is the winner of Corn Uí Riada , TG4 Singer of the Year Award and Presenter on the TG4 shows Cúl an Tí and Fonnadóirí na h-Airde

Plus Ronan ó Conghaile – sean-nos dancer and singer-- winner of Oireachtas na Gaeilge Stéip

She plans on bringing this show abroad to bring taste of the west of Ireland to the dear ones who had to immigrate in the past .
Whether singing a big sean nós, ballad or country song Caitríona always seems at ease and enjoying her performance singing .
