The New School is seeking a Manager for their Summer Programs and Planning.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, and collaborating closely with the Director of Art & Design Pre-College Programs and the Assistant Dean of Mannes Prep, the Manager of Summer Programs and Planning is committed to liaising between the academic programs and key offices and partners across the university in an effort to ensure excellent support and resources for summer program students and faculty.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, proactive, and highly organized administrator who skillfully communicates summer program needs to a variety of stakeholders, including members from Academic Advising, Academic Technology/IT Services, Admissions, Buildings, Campus Card Services, Campus Safety, Dining, Housing, International Student Services, the Making Center, Marketing & Communication, the Registrar’s Office, Student Health Services, and Student Leadership & Involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead out the summer program info sessions, open houses, and orientations for the entire calendar year; communicate information on the various summer program populations to university colleagues
  • Advocate for the program’s curricular needs to departments and Colleges including the Making Center, Academic Technology, Libraries, and Student Leadership & Involvement
  • Serve as a key member of the operations team to develop and efficiently implement and track program budgets
  • Collaborate with the Director of Art & Design Pre-College and the Assistant Dean of Mannes Prep to develop, execute, and assess the supplemental academic workshops for summer students
  • Liaise with Admissions to schedule info sessions, portfolio reviews, and auditions for summer program students
  • Work with Marketing & Communication to ensure regular documentation of program events and outcomes for promotional collateral
  • Serve as a key participant in the hiring of the Summer Housing Liaison; supervise the Housing Liaison
  • Assess student assistant needs for faculty to ensure adequate coverage for on- and off-campus learning experiences; manage hiring and payments for student assistants
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, students, and parents in regards to resources, events, and additional academic opportunities
  • Manage and improve group registration processes and provide timely support
  • Other duties as assigned
