16x16 bursary

16x16 bursary

Thursday, 16 July 2015, 5.30pm

In recognising the part played by artists in the events of 1916, and in recognising the role of the artist in contemporary Ireland, a series of special bursaries for emerging artists will be funded as part of the Arts Council programme for Ireland 2016. There will be 16 bursaries, each to the value of €12,500.

The bursaries will enable a new generation of artists to develop their practice and provide them with the opportunity to reflect on the role of artists in Irish society in 2016.

Successful bursary artists will be offered a group residency opportunity during 2016.

The selection panel will comprise:

  • a non-voting Council Chair
  • 2/3 Council members
  • a number of external panellists.
  1. You must be registered with the online services website to make an application. If you are not already registered, we recommend you register for online services as far in advance of the deadline as possible, as it may take five days for your online services registration to be processed.
