Irish Baroque Orchestra / Guest director: Kristian Bezuidenhout

Sunday, 19 May 2019, 3.00pm

Long Gallery, OPW Castletown House

Irish Baroque Orchestra returns to Castletown House in the company of world renowned guest director Kristian Bezuidenhout. On the world’s finest harpsichord virtuosos, Bezuidenhout turns his attention towards Bach; his monumental Art of Fugue on one hand and the D minor harpsichord concerto on the other, each with their own intricate inventions. Bezuidenhout constructs his own invention in the form of a hybrid suite, pairing Telemann’s Tafelmusik and Paris Quartets, before mythological caricatures of Neptune, water nymphs and all the tempestuous moods of the sea are depicted in his famous Wassermusik.
