Free Workshop with Camerata Flamenco Project

Free Workshop with Camerata Flamenco Project

Saturday, 6 December 2014, 2.00pm

Before their performance at Smock Alley Theatre on Sunday, 7 December (presented by Dublin Flamenco Festival and Waltons World Masters), Camerata Flamenco Project will present a free workshop at Waltons New School of Music on Saturday, 6 December.

Those who took part in last year’s workshop will know that this is an extraordinary opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the most exciting and original groups to emerge on the flamenco scene in years.

Members of the Camerata Flamenco Project will begin the workshop with a brief performance and then open the workshop to questions and answers about flamenco and their unique approach to it. They will also discuss and demonstrate some elements of that approach, including rhythm, ‘compás’, flamenco harmony and improvisation.

Although the workshop welcomes non‐performing observers, musicians and music students are encouraged to bring their own instruments and participate.

When Saturday, 6 December, 2 – 3.30 pm
Where Waltons New School of Music, 69 South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2
Presented by Dublin Flamenco Festival and Waltons World Masters

The number of participants in this workshop is strictly limited to 35, and advance booking is essential.
