Saturday, 24 February 2018, 2.00pm

he Irish Youth Choir is the only dedicated national youth choir that offers training opportunities for conductors and singers from all over Ireland. Established in 1982, IYC is a weeklong course with performances for 60-100 singers aged 18-28. The course takes place on campus at the University of Limerick each summer.

Choir members are selected following auditions held annually in a number of centres nationwide. Following successful audition, membership lasts for two years, after which time the singer must re-audition to join that year's intake.

The Irish Youth Choir seeks singers aged between 18 and 28 to undertake intensive training and professional development during its annual residential week from 29th June to 8th July with concerts on 6th/7th and 8th (TBC) July.

Singers presenting for audition for the Irish Youth Choir prepare a song of their own choice and can expect to be asked to sing some vocal exercises and to demonstrate a high level of musical ability. An accompanist is available to all singers and candidates are asked to provide two spare copies of their chosen piece of music at audition.

Anyone wishing to audition must register their interest.
