The Ardee Baroque Festival is a little gem and never fails to attract enthusiastic audiences with a range of glittering performances in late Autumn. This year, the IBO welcomes the return of flamboyant Italian director Alfredo Bernardini (oboe) for 2 concert programmes with plenty of sparkle and fizz: “Festa a Venezia” and “Reunion”

This evening’s Venetian Festival includes celebratory music written by Vivaldi to honour France and a French monarch! Works by Marcello, Albinoni and Platti highlight the beauty of a new species of music which appeared during the first decade of the eighteenth century: the oboe concerto. The IBO is led by Italian oboist Alberto Bernardini for this special evening.
