Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Music

Monday, 2 May 2016, 5.00pm

The University of Gloucestershire’s Media School is looking to appoint a range of new staff to its dynamic, successful and expanding community. At the heart of the vibrant cultural and creative scene in Cheltenham, located in our stunning Park Campus in Cheltenham, the University is investing heavily in staff and facilities. Student applications are rising, with an expanding network of partners in business and culture, and in September we will open a set of new music studios and production spaces, and a third newsroom. If you are looking for ambition, energy and creativity, join us and become part of our success story.

The growth and success of the University’s Popular Music course at the University of Gloucestershire Media School, the launch of new courses in Music Business and Creative Music Technology, and the development of our digitally networked recording, rehearsal and production facilities, means it is looking to add to its accredited team of researchers and creative and commercial music practitioners.

The successful candidate will be someone with significant experience of creative and music industry practice, a genuine passion for the subject matter and the necessary drive to teach to a high standard that regularly exceeds the University’s students’ expectations. Your background may be in composition, live performance and / or creative production. The University is looking for someone who is familiar with a range of instruments, digital interfaces and performance technologies and who can confidently deliver degree-level teaching across a wide range of music contexts, theoretical discourses and cultural perspectives.
