The Association of Irish Choirs presents choral director and arranger Craig Lees for an inspiring workshop, exploring contemporary rock and pop choral singing.
Discover new techniques for singing, arranging, teaching and performing including intonation, active posture, aural awareness and vocal harmony amongst many others whilst enjoying new arrangements of uplifting songs in a relaxed group atmosphere.
This session is open to all – a passion and love for singing is all that is required!

Craig is a Contemporary Vocal Coach, Choral Director, and Arranger. He is a Senior Lecturer on the Popular Music Degree at Leeds College of Music, where he founded the LCoM Contemporary Pop Choir in 2014. He is also the Musical Director behind Leeds Contemporary Singers, a nine piece vocal harmony group that recently rose to fame as the winners of BBC One's Pitch Battle show.
Craig coaches for Smith's record label (Nigel Martin-Smith) and has also had the pleasure of working with chart-topping artist Will Young (whilst on Pitch Battle) and internationally acclaimed artist Marc Almond.
Craig holds the post of "Musician in Residence" for the West Yorkshire Playhouse program for young people, where he directs the "Living Vocally" choir and facilitates several other community-based groups. He has delivered projects for leading voice technology manufacturer TC-Helicon and Mind The Gap Theatre Company (England's largest learning-disability theatre house) and runs regular choirs for the John Lewis Partnership.
He is a two term director of the British Voice Association (BVA) and was recently awarded the ‘Sing For Pleasure Young Conductor's Scholarship’. He has presented internationally on the topic of choral pedagogy and delivered choral workshops throughout the UK and abroad.
