Arts Council of Northern Ireland Seeking New Board Members

'All with an interest in and understanding of the arts should think about this opportunity', says Chairman.

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure is seeking applications from those interested in becoming members of the board of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

Although previous board experience is not required, a demonstrated interest in the arts and experience in corporate governance and strategic planning is required.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Friday 2 October and interviews are expected to take place on 26, 27 and 28 October.

Bob Collins, Chairperson of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, commented

All with an interest in and understanding of the arts should think about this opportunity and make an application. That includes working artists as well; they have a particularly important perspective to bring to the work of the board. It is without doubt a challenging time for the arts, but there is an opportunity for board members to make a genuine and positive contribution to the future of the arts in Northern Ireland.

The appointments will be made for a term of up to 4 years, commencing 1 December 2015. An application pack can be obtained by emailing dcal.hr [at] dcalni.gov.uk (subject: Arts%20Council%20of%20Northern%20Ireland%20Board%20) .
