Shortlist Announced for Northern Ireland International Organ Competition

The Northern Ireland International Organ Competition, which takes place from next Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 August in Armagh, has announced its shortlist for the Senior Category.

This is the fifth year of the event and the Senior competition takes place on Monday. The shortlist is as follows:

Josie Towle-Jones (UK)
Alexander Hamilton (UK)
Laurence Long (UK)
Anna Lapwood (UK)

Sanne Behrends Lorenzen (Denmark)
David Bendix Nielsen (Denmark)
Yanis Dubois (France)

The Chair of this year’s jury is Erwan le Prado. He will be joined by Prof. David Graham and Dr David Hill.

The winner will receive £1,000, a trophy, and four public recitals at Westminster Abbey; Trinity College Chapel, Cambridge; Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin; and St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.

There is also a prize for the most outstanding performance of Bach in the competition.
