Stephen Langridge Appointed Artistic Director of Glyndebourne
Glyndebourne has announced opera director Stephen Langridge as its new Artistic Director.
Langridge is best known as Artistic Director of Gothenburg Opera, and has worked with companies such as the Royal Opera House, Aldebrugh Festival and Salzburg Opera. He is particularly interested in contemporary music, and has presented education and development projects with composers, librettists and community groups. His past productions with Glyndebourne include a trio of specially commissioned youth operas by John Lunn and Steven Plaice, Zoë (2000), Tangier Tattoo (2006) and Misper (2007).

Langridge will take up the role in Spring 2019.
Glyndebourne is led by Managing Director Sarah Hopwood, with Robin Ticciati as Music Director. Upcoming Glyndebourne productions include Barber’s Vanessa (5–26 August), Verdi’s La Traviata (12 October – 30 November), and Massenet’s Cendrillon (13 October – 1 December).
