First Quiet Lights Folk and Indie Festival in Cork

Radie Peat and Katie Kim, Slow Moving Clouds, Landless, Cormac Begley, Dowry, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and more to perform on weekend of 7–9 September.

The first Quiet Lights festival will take place in Cork next week on 7–9 September. Launched by Islander, a new music company founded by Jon Pearson, the festival focusses on adventurous folk and traditional music artists, as well as indy artists working across genres.

The festival begins on Friday 7 September with concertina player Cormac Begley at Coughlan’s Bar at 8pm. Vocal group Landless and singer-songwriter Saint Caoilian will be at the Sirius Arts Centre at the same time, while singer-songwriters Inni-k and Elaine Malone will be at the Roundy, Castle Street, at 8.30pm.

On Saturday 8 September, Lisa O’Neill performs at Coughlan’s, Slow Moving Clouds will be at the Chapel in Griffith College, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh will be at St Peter’s, North Main Street, and Dowry and Claudia Schwab will perform at the Roundy.

The festival finishes on Sunday with Ye Vagabonds at Coughlan’s and Katie Kim and Radie Peat at The Chapel, Griffith College.
