Louis Lovett, Finghin and Dearbhla Collins to Perform with Irish Chamber Orchestra

Acclaimed actor Lovett to narrate 'Carnival of the Animals'.

Louis Lovett, particularly known for his work in children’s theatre, will perform with an ensemble from the Irish Chamber Orchestra – as well as Finghin and Dearbhla Collins – in Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals on 15 October.

Taking place as part of the Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival in Limerick, there will be two performances at the Lime Tree Theatre at 12pm and 7pm

Ahead of Carnival of the Animals, in Dublin (Thursday), Limerick (Friday) and Galway (Saturday) this week, the Irish Chamber Orchhestra, directed by Katherine Hunka, will present a programme of Mozart, Stravinsky and Haydn, featuring Finghin Collins performing Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D, Hob XVIII:11.

The ICO season continues in December when they will be joined by Principal Conductor Jörg Widmann for works by Mozart, Sándor Veress, Mendelssohn, and Widmann’s own String Quartet No. 1, performing two concerts in Limerick (2nd) and Cork (3rd).

Widmann’s Quartet is one of five that he has written, each of which explores a different aspect of the most intimate of sound worlds.
