The Conservatory of Ghent, Belgium, together with the Belgian ensembles Ictus and Spectra, offers an ‘Advanced Master in Contemporary Music’ course. The course is for performing musicians specialising in contemporary music who already hold a Master of Music or equivalent degree.

Theoretical and practical courses are taken at the Conservatory of Ghent, with coaching from the professional ensembles. The course runs over two years. Tuition is €1,500 per academic year.

Applicants must pass an entrance exam (this takes place on either 23 April or 30 August this year). The exam entails a thirty-minute performance and discussion of a ‘master proposal’ which should be prepared in advance. This is followed by a short theory test.

The deadline for applications is 1 April 2012.
