Arts Audiences Announces Audience Development Programme

Arts Audiences Touring Marketing Training meeting

The Arts Audience initiative was begun in 2009 to meet a need in the competitive arts and entertainment business: giving arts organisations across the country the support they need to compete against the larger media and entertainment forces that dominate the market. At the heart of the programme is increasing the audiences of different artforms as well as assisting practitioners of those artforms to connect with that audience on a greater level, through individualised research into attendance and consumption, customer service, collaboration, new media and audience profiles.

Arts Audiences will run a six-month course from June to December, taking place two days a month in Dublin at the Irish Times Training centre, leading to a Certificate in Management Practice from the University of Ulster. It will be delivered by Ulster Business School, Hallam Communications Ltd. Heather Maitland and Fáilte Ireland. The programme consists of seven modules, including new media training, management training, customer service and project management strategies and is based around three work-based assignments to help practical implementation of new approaches.

The Audience Development programme costs €400, and the deadline of applications is 10 May 2012. For more information and for application forms, click here.
