Berliner Philharmoniker in 3D

The Berliner Philharmoniker have just finished shooting a new film, in which the audience can experience the orchestra in 3D. The film, Berliner Philharmoniker – A Musical Journey in 3D, was shot in Singapore and features stories from the lives of Singaporeans – representing the lives of all humans – as well as footage of the orchestra. Conducted by Simon Rattle, the orchestra plays Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony and Sergei Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances. Though A Musical Journey in 3D is intended for a cinema release, the Berliner Philharmoniker have also started filming their regular concerts and rehearsals in 3D, for distribution via their Digital Concert Hall service. www.berliner-philharmoniker.de
